This series of poems marks the author's first publication in her adopted tongue. The works featured distill a bit of personal history as well as imagined events. It is clear, right from the start, that her writing is not interested in happy endings or small talk. Instead, it skips all the introductions and places us right in the middle of an encounter whether we like it or not.
