The Decade That Rocked

Autor Mark Weiss, Richard Bienstock

Recenzii

"Mark Weiss is a rock star. If he didn't have a camera hanging around his neck, it would be a Les Paul guitar."
— Gene Simmons, Kiss

Notă biografică

Mark “Weissguy” Weiss' first published work, a centerfold of Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, appeared in Circus magazine in 1978. By the early ’80s, Mark was shooting KISS, Steven Tyler, Ozzy, and other rock legends in his New York studio. No other photographer staged as many studio shoots or had the behind-the-scenes access that Weiss had to the ’80s metal and hard rock scene. To his credit is Mötley Crüe’s first appearance in a national publication, Oui Magazine in 1982, countless magazine covers and spreads worldwide, and the iconic imagery for many multi-platinum albums including Bon Jovi’s Slippery When Wet and Twisted Sister’s Stay Hungry. He has traveled the world photographing tours for Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses, Van Halen, KISS, and Bon Jovi. In September 2013, Weiss was honored to unveil his own memorabilia case at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. His photographs are also displayed exclusively throughout Broadway’s Helen Hayes Theatre and the Venetian in Las Vegas for the hit musical Rock of Ages. He lives in Rumson, NJ.
