Way back in the last century, back in the 1960s, computers were mammoth mysterious machines. Yet many corporations depended on these immensely expensive machines every day. No one ever saw the computer. Only their operators were allowed access. After all, these were the people who actually made the computer do the work. On the other hand, these well trained operators knew nothing of the secrets behind the covers. If a problem arose, there was no choice but to call the computer guy. He was the one who knew what secrets lay behind those closed doors. A supervisor would frantically place a call for service. Then wait. And wait. And wait. There was little to do without the computer running. Finally someone would yell out, "The computer guy is here " The computer guy would be warmly greeted by the thankful supervisor... who immediately wanted to know how long it would take to fix the problem. So, with everyone looking over his shoulder, the computer guy set about his business determining the cause of the problem and finding a solution.
