The famous Spanish Princess Ruby is set to be displayed at a local museum. It has taken months for the curator to get a showing to take place. Meanwhile, the famous Detective Hercule Poirot is also set to attend a special Science fair by invitation by a special student, Janet. On her way home from the science fair, she gets mixed up with the jewel thieves bait and switch scam and goes to Hercule Poirot to help solve the mystery of the Missing Spanish Ruby.
