Rosie Chinea Shawver is president and executive director of the Catholic Campus Ministry Association (CCMA), a national organization that supports more than 600 Catholic campus ministers serving 357 colleges and universities across the United States through formation, resources, advocacy, and community.
She earned a master of divinity degree from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, California, and a certificate in nonprofit executive leadership from Indiana University.
Shawver served as director of Campus Ministry at the USC Caruso Catholic Center for nine years. She has held leadership roles in Catholic ministry and nonprofit organizations, including executive director of the Catholic Association for Latino Leadership; parish and faith community outreach liaison for Catholic Charities; and director of campus ministry at the University of New Mexico. She also served on the USCCB's National Eucharistic Revival fundraising committee.
She has spoken at a variety of conferences, including SEEK, Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, and the Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities (FADICA) Day of Discernment. She has been a guest on the Good Faith podcast and Hart & Hustle Podcast.
Shawver lives in California with her husband and daughter.
Maureen K. Day is a visiting research professor at Villanova University's Center for Church Management. She is also a research affiliate at the Center for Religion and Civic Culture and the Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies, both at the University of Southern California, as well as an associate member of Las Casas Institute at the University of Oxford's Blackfriars Hall.
An award-winning author, Day has written and edited books and articles for both Catholic and academic audiences. Her publications include Catholicism at a Crossroads (NYU Press, 2025), Cultural Catholics (Liturgical Press, 2024), Catholic Activism Today (NYU Press, 2020), and Young Adult American Catholics (Paulist Press, 2018).
Day has shared her expertise with the Church at the diocesan, national, and international levels. With training in both theology and the social sciences and a commitment to young adult ministry, she coauthored the final reports for the 2017 and 2019 national studies on Catholic campus ministry conducted by the USCCB. She also worked closely with Journeying Together, a multiyear intercultural encounter for youth and young adults sponsored by the USCCB.
Day resides in Southern California with her family.
