A Korean War hero returns home to find his bank account has been raided, his home has been repossessed, and his wife has deserted him. Vowing never to work again, he finds his way to Spokane, Washington, and takes refuge in a large culvert. He eventually is convinced to go to work at a wheat farm, where he falls in love with the farmer's daughter.
