A ROUTINE CHARTER. A MYSTERIOUS PRINCESS. THEN SOMEBODY STARTS SHOOTING.

Pete England has had enough of routine commercial flying. The Washington–New York run once felt like freedom; now the same route and the same passengers make the cockpit feel almost ordinary.

Then a woman presented as a princess buys every seat on his airplane. The private charter is unusual enough. The aircraft that comes after them with guns makes it clear that Pete has carried his passenger into something much larger.

International intrigue turns a commercial flight into a running aerial fight. The supposed princess is more than an unusual fare. Her secrecy determines Pete’s route, his enemies and the danger following the airplane. He cannot protect her without learning enough to make decisions, yet every answer pulls him further into a conflict he never agreed to join.

The Battling Pilot is historical fiction and early aviation adventure from an era when commercial flying was still new, aircraft range and vulnerability shaped every escape, and one pilot could find himself carrying a political crisis across a border.
