Ryan and his Special Forces team are ordered to a remote island in the Baltic Sea to rescue a female Russian survivor and retrieve a case of vials after a virus leaked in a laboratory turning the staff into infected. The infected are unpredictable, the Russian woman impossible, and the American-Russian project immoral. Ryan refuses to question the project.
