Smooth Diao works overtime as the foreman of the under-appreciated backstage workers of Xi’an’s premier theatre company, where their labour makes dazzling performances happen. Between backbreaking labour in the theatre, keeping the crew out of trouble, and attempting to salvage his third marriage, Smooth’s days are anything but smooth.
