Literature and architecture are related in a complex way. In this volume, literary, and cultural critics along with art historians explore new perspectives in understanding 19th and 20th century texts and contexts. Architecture’s presence in literature and the aesthetic interdependency between the two arts illustrates the ways that “space” established itself in aesthetic theory and practice.
