How can discourses about politically motivated violence be analyzed? Christer Petersen presents a perspective on the investigation of the connection between political terror and the propaganda of its mass media distribution. He develops a formal discourse analysis which enables the precise description of Media Studies objects by means of an applied logic. Methodologically, the first decisive steps are made - within the framework of a self-reflexive application of formal logic for the analysis of discourses of violence - toward a new Media Studies discipline, and the prolegomena for an Analytical Media Studies is laid out.
