Notă biografică
Dr. Rachel Ann Hauser-Davis is a biologist with an MSc and PhD in (Environmental/Analytical) Chemistry and is a researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her work spans biological oceanography, environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology, One Health, food safety, (metallo)proteomics, and the conservation of natural and fisheries resources. Her research examines how environmental pollutants affect biochemical, physiological, developmental, survival, and ecological endpoints, supporting environmental health promotion and aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Descriere
This book provides a comprehensive synthesis of technology-critical elements (TCEs) as emerging metallic pollutants in aquatic environments. It examines rare earth elements, rubidium, and platinum-group metals, detailing their technological importance, extraction pathways, environmental release, and behavior in freshwater and marine systems.
