Teacher Toolkit

Recenzii

This is a book by a teacher still in the classroom after 20 years. Want to know how to survive? Read this book; it's fizzing with ideas.
The overarching metaphor of the Vitruvian teacher is inspired and encompasses just those qualities we all seek to develop as teachers, regardless of how long we have been involved in teaching. Written in an engaging, active way, with a user friendly, humorous [and] easy-to-access structure. It will do what it says on the cover - it will help you survive the first 5 years. You may not like all the activities and approaches, but I'm willing to bet there are plenty that will appeal to you and fit your developing teaching approaches.
The best thing about the book is the honesty; the author shares a lot of his own experiences, a lot of them from his training or early years, making it even more accessible to the trainees and NQTs like myself.
This rich array of strategies can really help any new teacher get to grips with the job.
[This book] condenses the whole pedagogical and teaching world into its essential components in bite-sized, beautifully illustrated chunks. This insightful, succinct and often inspirational book is a must for every teacher's bookshelf.
Teacher Toolkit is a fantastic read for NQTs, those returning to teaching after a break or even those who are simply feeling disillusioned. It's an encouraging, inspiring read - a little like having a friend beside you telling you that everything will be okay.
A valuable resource that offers practical suggestions and advice to help readers remain in the profession and work towards becoming a Vitruvian teacher: one that is resilient, intelligent, innovative, collaborative and aspirational. An easy book to dip into for busy teachers and entertaining to read.
