Notă biografică

Phelicia Lang is a California native, educator, author, speaker, and publisher with over twenty-five years of experience supporting young learners. She holds a Master's degree in Reading Leadership with a focus on Multicultural Literature and has worked across private, charter, and public school settings. As a wife, mother of four, and grandmother, Phelicia understands firsthand the power of early literacy. One of her greatest joys was teaching her own children to read during their homeschool years-an experience that deepened her belief that children learn in different ways and deserve instruction and stories that honor who they are.Phelicia has devoted much of her career to early childhood education, particularly kindergarten, where she has created and led impactful literacy initiatives, including a Summer Kindergarten Intervention Program for African American children. She continues her advocacy by partnering with various agencies focused on early literacy. At the heart of Phelicia's work is a passion for helping children learn to read confidently, think critically, and fall in love with books. She is especially committed to ensuring African American children see themselves reflected positively in literature. Writing and publishing books for beginning and early readers is a natural extension of her mission.Phelicia writes so children can say, "I see me on the page."
