Book 4 in the Angler Walkabout Series sees the Author return to his native waters of Australia, to explore the beautiful island state of Tasmania. Throughout the summer he uses a combination of sea kayak and good old fashioned foot power to access the rivers, lakes and coastlines that Tasmania has to offer the adventurous angler. Whether it's casting tiny flies to timid trout in the high country, or doing battle with the hard-hitting bluefin tuna of the Southern Ocean, the target species are as diverse as the spectacular landscapes. During his Walkabout: The Author has success with dry flies on Great Lake. He covers well over 100km on foot on the Central Plateau. Kayaks to isolated fishing on Lakes Pedder and Gordon, Australia's largest lakes. Explores and fishes the beautiful Freycinet Peninsula. Targets black bream on the fly rod for the first time. Fishes Bruny Island, home to kangaroos like none he had ever before seen, and the birth place of Truganini, Tasmania's last living aboriginal. He catches Australian salmon from perhaps Tasmania's most famous beach. Kayaks up to 7km out to sea and hooks a lot more than just fish. He even ends up going for a few unexpected swims."
