The Tarot Chimera is an eighty-three-card tarot deck comprised of artwork by the well-known French Symbolist artist Odilon Redon (1840–1916). Each card has been digitally enhanced and interpreted for the tarot format.
 
A Symbolist artist on the cutting edge of surrealism, Odilon Redon’s work was a visual exploration of occult mysteries. His imagery—evocative of dreams and the deep unconscious—contains dark, fantastical figures from Redon’s own imagination and represents an exploration of internal feelings and the psyche. Redon’s imagery places “the logic of the visible at the service of the invisible” and thus provides a perfect pathway for the tarot.
 
Following the tarot structure of the Rider-Waite-Smith, creator Nitasia Roland has allowed Redon’s imagery to naturally evolve into the Major and Minor Arcana, with an emphasis on its nature as “chimeric”—dreamlike, illusory, transformative.
 
Roland’s “chimeric” interpretations draw upon the numinous realm of spirit, encouraging the integration of the shadow for growth and transformation. As a tarot, Redon’s arcana promotes a deeper dive into the transformative divination process to shed luminous light onto your path, transmute negative energies, foster positive expansive realities, and reveal the occulted aspects of self that need healing and that are shrouded in darkness or hiding beneath the surface.
