Autor Jim Potter
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 15 oct 2017
This contemporary, character-driven novel is about people who are stigmatized. However, once they discover their true identities, each is empowered to begin the journey of life's purpose. The man characters are: police officer Tom Jennings, obese as a mutant Idaho potato in a jiggling gelatin suit; James Odessa-Smith, with his schizoaffective disorder; and young Suanna Morningcloud, a person with albinism, half Nez Perce Indian and half Caucasian. Meeting during a botched bank robbery in Prairie Grove, Kansas, they experience tragedy and trauma. Forever changed and connected, they are forced to ask, "Who am I and where do I belong?" Taking Back the Bullet explores the themes of stigma, identity, and self-discovery. The multi-layered stories are an escape into reality.

Notă biografică

Jim Potter is president of District 6 of the Kansas Authors Club. His discipline in literary work was honed as a deputy sheriff writing multiple reports every work shift. Deadlines were real; patrol officers couldn't go home until the paperwork was completed. Potter is proud of Under the Radar: Race at School, a play used in workshops at schools; Cop in the Classroom: Lessons I've Learned, Tales I've Told, a police memoir; and Taking Back the Bullet: Trajectories of Self-Discovery, a novel. His next book may be titled, Mr. and Mrs. Sheriff. It's full of stories on the sheriffs of Reno County. Check out Potter's weekly blogs and podcasts at www.jimpotterauthor.com.
