Martin L. Lasater is a Non-Resident Scholar at the Atlantic Council of the United States in Washington, D.C. A specialist on Asia-Pacific security issues, he has written several books on Taiwan and China, the most recent being The Changing of the Guard: President Clinton and the Security of Taiwan (Westview, 1995).
