Taboo: taboo or tabu [taˈbuː] - A photographic journey into the hidden world of lust
Autor Vince Voltageen Limba Engleză Hardback – 31 oct 2024
The renowned photo artist Vince Voltage, who is internationally celebrated for his extraordinary events and his "Raw Love" photo book presents himself here quite simply in black and white and lets the moment speak, the intimate moment when the taboo is broken.
What he captures with his camera — looking beyond the taboo — are people who experience and share something together. The shock always remains chic, the images inviting and haunting, and so Vince Voltage balances on the razor’s edge between ruckus and enchanting intimacy, which takes the taboo as an occasion, but never evaluates it and thus gives people space and dignity. [taˈbuː] an unwritten law that forbids doing certain things because of beliefs within a society.
About the Artist:
Voltage is a solo musician, artist and former guitarist for the band Pussy Sisster. During his concert tours with Pussy Sisster, Voltage discovered photography and began to teach himself the medium.
From 2009 Voltage began to professionalize his photographic work. In 2015, Voltage joined the Stuttgart artist group Kunscht, which has since been renamed Platform 11. In 2016 he created his first photo series "iron republic" with models from the fetish area, which was exhibited in the premises of the district court in Stuttgart. Further exhibitions in galleries and at scene events followed, as well as two self-published illustrated books and features in magazines and newspapers.
Voltage has become known beyond the borders of the German-speaking area. His photographs are printed in international art magazines. In July 2019 an exhibition of his work was held in Canada. His mostly erotically staged motifs play with breaking sexual taboos and gender roles. Voltage finds its themes in the fetish, cyberpunk and apocalyptic scenes. For his work, he relies on the collaboration of professional and hobby models.
