THEY LOOKED AT HER WITH INDIFFERENCE. NO, NOT INDIFFERENCE. MORE LIKE THE FEELING A BOILED POTATO ELICITS. NOTHING-IT'S A BOILED POTATO.
The New California Republic succeeded. Synthetic beings created to be stronger, faster and predictably obedient reside alongside the Organics, at least till the generational fade-out of that lesser being (contaminant) is complete.
The better being is to absorb, the lesser being-dissolve.
But they didn't account for one thing-how do you say no to a better being when he decides he too wants choice?
Synth Pulse follows a volatile Organic woman and a Synthetic soldier created to protect and obey, who breaks his allegiance to the Republic and discovers that he may be the biggest threat to the order.
Synth Pulse is an introspective work of speculative fiction set in near-future Southern California. This soft science fiction novel explores the meaning of selfhood, autonomy and the cost of choice in the presence of oppressive power and duty. For readers who want the depth of contemplative literary sci-fi and the propulsion of a dystopian thriller.
