This book is the first in a series of three based on actual events experienced by the author. In this story of survival the author relates challenges he faced when venturing into the largest expanse of Canadian tundra called the Barren Lands. Flown two hundred sixty air miles from the nearest town to establish a fishing camp, the four men were on their own for three weeks. With no way to get help they had to learn how to deal with constantly changing weather conditions and unpredictable shifting ice. Then a turn of events forced them to rely on the land as well as their instincts to avoid hypothermia and starvation.
