Suite Francesa

I (Elena Odraizola) was born in San Sebastiá n and started my career as a professional illustrator in 1997. To date, I've illustrated over a hundred books and numerous posters. I really enjoy making posters. In 2019, I founded Ediciones Modernas El Embudo with Gustavo Puerta Leisse and Marta Ansó n to bring our most personal and playful projects to life. I've illustrated several books, including Eguberria (Editorial Nerea, 2012); Frankenstein (Nó rdica Libros, 2013); En el bosque (Libros del Zorro Rojo, 2017); Sentimientos encontrados (Ediciones Modernas El Embudo, 2019); and Lecciones de cosas (Ediciones Modernas El Embudo, 2019). Irene Nemirovsky nació en Kiev, con el nombre de Irina Lvivna Nemirovska. A raí z de la Revolució n rusa, la familia tuvo que exiliarse a Francia. Tras graduarse en la Sorbona, Irè ne comenzó su carrera literaria. "El baile" (1930), que contiene muchos elementos autobiográ ficos, fue su mayor é xito en vida. Irene Nemirovsky was born in Kiev as Irina Lvivna Nemirovska. Following the Russian Revolution, her family was forced into exile in France. After graduating from the Sorbonne, Irene began her literary career. "The Ball" (1930), which contains many autobiographical elements, was her greatest success during her lifetime. Deported to the Auschwitz concentration camp, Irene died of typhus, and her husband was gassed. Fifty years would pass before her daughters discovered "Suite Franç aise," perhaps her most representative and moving work.
