Studying Drama: A Handbook: Routledge Revivals

Autor David Bradby, Philip Thomas, Kenneth Pickering
en Limba Engleză Hardback – feb 2027
Written as a result of the authors’ experience of teaching in schools, colleges, and universities, Studying Drama (originally published in 1983), provides both a methodology and a structured programme of work for the study of drama. The underlying principle of this book is that active involvement in the processes of drama is a prerequisite of its study and that the subject itself is a great deal wider than the consideration of play texts. Questions of staging, acting, and of theatre history are considered in the light of the work of great theatre practitioners as well as being offered as skills for development by the individual student.
The authors have set out a variety of practical responses to the material and have provided both exercises for personal development and starting points for further study.  Teachers are encouraged to use such material from the book as may be appropriate to their needs and situation: the three sections of the book may be used in isolation whereas the entire text will provide a complete course of study.
