Paul O. Awoyera, is a professional structural engineer with over 15 years of experience in consulting, teaching, and research. Prior to joining Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University, Saudi Arabia, he served as an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Covenant University, Nigeria.
He obtained his B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, in 2008 and 2012, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Covenant University, Nigeria. As a recipient of the prestigious Split-Site Ph.D. Scholarship of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, he completed part of his doctoral research at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, in 2017. In 2020, he further advanced his research through a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, focusing on lightweight composites developed from paper and ceramic wastes.
Dr. Awoyera is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), United Kingdom, a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and a member of the International Association for Engineers (IAENG).
With over 100 publications in reputable international journals, he serves as an editor, editorial board member, and reviewer for several scholarly outlets. He has also edited three books published by internationally acclaimed publishing houses.
His research interests include sustainable construction materials, structural retrofitting, soft computing techniques, and innovative composite materials. He is committed to advancing structural engineering knowledge and mentoring the next generation of engineers.
