Notă biografică
Born in India during a period when the country was commencing its modernization process, Gajinder Oberoi went on to pursue a medical career. His work in rural practice, emergency medicine, intensive care, anesthesiology, and pain medicine has provided exposure to the lives of many different people across India, Papua New Guinea and Australia. His 22-year association with Royal Hobart Hospital in Tasmania started with his role as a Founding Director of Pain Services. Gajinder has been published in medical journals and co-authored a book with Professor Garry Phillips (Anaesthesia and Emergency Situations - A Management Guide, McGraw Hill Australia). He has also reviewed books about Indian civilization and it's socio-cultural aspect for Contemporary South Asia Journal (The Making of India - A Historical Survey, Ranbir Vohra; Pluralism And Equality - Values In Indian Society And Politics, Imtiaz Ahmed and Partha S Gosh). Over several decades, whenever an idea came Gajinder would steal some time to write it up and quietly stow it away in dark drawers. All this rolled out into sunlight when there was a break in clinical work due to Covid-19 in 2020. Hence this book - Stories that remain untold.
