When detective-in-training Sigurdís interrupts her studies in the US to return to Iceland, after discovering that the investigation into her abusive father’s death has been dropped, she’s plunged into a completely new case: controversial TV personality Olga Einars has been stabbed to death during the Reykjavík Marathon by an attacker who’ll go to any lengths to cover up their crime.

Detective-in-training Sigurdís has travelled to the US to study criminal psychology, but her plans are thrown into disarray when she discovers that her boss and mentor, Garðar, has been stood down from Reykjavík CID over his investigation into Sigurdís’s abusive father’s untimely death.
