In 2012, school teacher Fredda Talia, takes her fifth grade class on a field trip to Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay. While searching for two lost students, she makes a surprising discovery in the attic of a barracks built in 1862. She doesn't know what it is, but knows she must return later to make a thorough search of the attic for answers. Three days later she and her boyfriend return to Angel Island. Using flashlights in the dark attic, they find several Civil War artifacts. A grisly discovery becomes life threatening, intensifying Fredda's malevolent life-long companion, Tourette's, a discovery that endows her with unexpected powers.
