A victim no one can identify. A city where missing women are forgotten.
When a young woman is found buried in local woods with her hands cut off, the crime bears an unsettling resemblance to a historical murder.
New to West Mercia Major Crimes, DC Ash Rigney is determined to prove she belongs on the team. After a childhood inside a secretive religious cult, she's spent her life hiding who she really is.
But as Ash follows the victim's trail through Mercia's forgotten industrial estates, ancient woodlands and overlooked communities, another body is discovered. The second victim changes everything.
Someone has learned a terrifying truth...
The women who nobody misses are the easiest to kill.
