A series of coincidental accidents and twists of fate lead Yaroslav to accept a new job in which he has no experience. For a period of two weeks he finds himself as a private eye, investigating a mysterious slaying in San Francisco. Upon starting his job, he teams up with veteran detective Steve Williams, who is simultaneously working on a case involving the murder of a tourist from India. Soon, their investigations lead them straight into the secret world of international intelligence agencies. War, drug and arms trafficking, and personal ambitions collide in a tangle of political intrigue. When the American detective has to leave his job for personal reasons, Yaroslav accompanies him to Russia to even the score.
