St. Lawrence Ripples The column, St. Lawrence Ripples, provided an opportunity for a young urban product of New York City to personally explore the fascination of small town rural life in early 19th century America seen through the eyes of those who lived it. New York State's North Country, including the Adirondack region, is still a distinct, beautiful area far removed from the common perception of the Empire State.
