When outside interests threaten the rare sea birds of Ballybrady, Grace - usually so keen to do things on her own - realises she needs help to save them. To her displeasure, her main allies against corporate forces are the Rubber Duckies Wild Swimming Club: a gaggle of women with expensive jackets and braying voices. As they work together and draw the whole village into an audacious campaign, Grace begins to relent, learning that each woman has her own powerful and sometimes surprising reason to be committed to their common cause.
