Smokie Forever

Autor John H. Williams
en Limba Engleză Paperback
Smokie was a real cat and his story is based around his true life.

I hope this book can bring young and old alike an understanding of one of life's greatest pleasures...the company of a cat. For all those past or present owners, I don't have to sell you on the appreciation of cats. For those that have never owned a cat, just read and enjoy. Hopefully this story can help children to accept the loss of any pet more easily without ever having to forget them.

Notă biografică

John H. Williams, PhD (University of Wisconsin-Madison), is a retired professor of French language and literature. A college valedictorian, Woodrow Wilson Fellow, United States Steel Fellow, and Fulbright Advanced Teaching Fellow, he taught at three public universities and three private universities over a span of twenty-four years. The author of scholarly articles on French literature and French pedagogy, he retired at forty-eight to devote himself to volunteer work and his many personal interests. Williams has been married for forty-nine years and has two sons and two grandchildren. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, now living in McKinney, Texas, he is active at church as a Bible teacher and has also taught ESL at the local public library. He enjoys reading non-fiction, improving his Spanish, playing chess, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In this book of personal essays, he attempts to channel Michel de Montaigne, his favorite French author, and to share his reflections not only on his own life but on a wide range of relevant topics.
