Slowly and Shirley

Spencer Lott and Grace Townley collaborate on many things. Together they write, illustrate, make puppets, build worlds, and they've even made a human child.

Spencer is a Sesame Street Muppet performer, where he plays Julia's brother, Samuel, as well as a variety of penguins, monsters, and singing vegetables!

Grace's years of experience as a social worker for older adults impacts each story they tell.

Together, Spencer and Grace run Simple Mischief Studio, a Drama Desk nominated creative studio with a soft spot for puppets. Their work has been seen on Broadway, film, and TV. They live in Kansas with their daughter, who is not a pirate.
