In this wonderful debut collection, Janet Wilkes takes us to both beautiful and hard places with her poems. Some evoke quotations from the Bible as she journeys from the Crucifixion to Christmas and from Creation to near death on the battlefield. There is no issue. There is no rallying for or against any cause. The tone throughout is simply one of hope and joy.
