No matter what language a child speaks, nursery rhymes can be a fun way to increase the ability to identify and manipulate letters' sounds, as well as practice language rhythms. With that in mind, a seasoned art teacher introduces the young Chinese reader to the basic units that comprise the English language through five beautifully illustrated nursery rhymes.
Michael Fleming has made it his mission to bridge the cultures of English and Chinese speakers and provide a greater understanding and appreciation of each culture through such nursery rhymes as "Hey Diddle Diddle," "Little Miss Muffet," "Jack Be Nimble," "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Rock-a-Bye Baby." Presented in both English and Chinese, the nursery rhymes lead Chinese readers through English language fundamentals and introduce English speakers to the characters of the Chinese language.
"Sing with Me" provides a intriguing journey through both languages that not only educates students but also encourages acceptance of other cultures.
