Jerusalem. In the temple Simeon wrestles with the conflicting biblical texts about the coming of the Messiah. The scribes can't agree. Will he be a king like David? A prophet like Moses? A priest like Aaron? Will he come soon? How will Simeon know? The story is based Luke's Gospel and on an ancient account passed on among Eastern Christians. The bible story is familiar but the ancient account is not, especially the end. "Simeon's Puzzle" is the first short story in the series: "Yet Alive."
