A group of Russian soldiers fight for their lives in Stalingrad, during the Nazi siege. Meanwhile, Hans, a German soldier, as he begins to see the Nazis for what they are, struggles to decide whether or not to break his oath of loyalty to Hitler, and assassinate an excessively cruel Nazi officer.
