Four friends. One isolated farmhouse. A tradition that should never have been forgotten.
When seventeen-year-old Mia Reifer returns to her late grandmother's farmhouse in the Austrian Alps, she expects a quiet weekend of skiing, sorting old belongings, and avoiding the voicemail she still cannot bring herself to hear.
Then an avalanche closes the only road out.
In the valley below, Saint Nicholas makes his annual rounds, accompanied by bells, masks, and the horned figures of an ancient Alpine tradition. But no one announces the four teenagers staying at the Reiferhof.
That night, the snowfall stops.
The valley falls silent.
And bells begin climbing the mountain.
Something is coming to the farmhouse alone, without the saint who should restrain it. When one of Mia's friends disappears, the others uncover a disturbing record hidden among her grandfather's belongings. It suggests the visitor isn't hunting at random.
Everyone in the house is hiding something.
Before the bells return, Mia must discover what happened to her friend, confront the truth she has buried since her grandmother's death, and complete an unfinished reckoning.
Because some accounts cannot remain unpaid.
Silent Night is a chilling folk-horror novella of guilt, buried secrets, and an Alpine custom turned terrifying. Perfect for readers who enjoy atmospheric winter horror, isolated settings, ancient folklore, and slow-building supernatural dread.
