In 2004, I was living a thrifty life; but not living a healthy life. I had been smoking since I was 12 years old. I did not recycle. I used and reused plastic and did not own a reusable shopping bag. I did not eat organic. I ate fast food. I ate processed food. I was killing the world. I was killing my grandchildren. I was killing me. The excuses... 'I can't do it all by myself' and 'what can one person do???' did not work for me anymore and were, certainly, not going to help the world. I thought, I could at least try my best to live the way I thought everyone should. I could influence those around me who look the other way or are too lazy or have no gumption. I'm sure people thought I went crazy in my obsession with defeating these problems but it was the sanest thing I have ever done and I still do it today; with conviction, passion and determination. I want to lead by example. There are other people out there that believe a difference can be made. As I travel through my life time, I meet others who have come to the right place and realization that I was right and they wanted to know what I did.
