A psychological crime thriller about the sole survivor of an unsolved massacre, a woman with a bullet still lodged in her skull and a compulsion to solve the case that made her. Cold-case obsession, fractured identity and a family on the edge.
The Only Witness Can't Remember. The Killer Hasn't Forgotten.
On a summer's day in 1998, a savage crime at an isolated Lakeland beauty spot left three people dead. The case has gone unsolved ever since. The only witness is an amnesiac with a bullet lodged in her brain.
The bullet could kill Butterfly at any moment. Jack is afraid for her. Increasingly, he wonders whether he should also be afraid of her. Her mood swings turn violent without warning. Sometimes she acts like a different person altogether.
Butterfly can't let the case go. But how can she succeed where twenty years of police work failed? The answer might be locked in the darkest corners of her damaged mind. Or it might belong to the driver of the car that's started following her. Either way, the truth could cost Butterfly her new family, her sanity and her life.
She's Gone is the third book in the Jack Anderson series, for readers who love amnesiac heroines, cold-case mysteries, unreliable memory and slow-tightening menace. Perfect for fans of Mark Edwards, C.J. Tudor and Tana French.
