Three high profile disappearances have left the inhabitants of Douglastown frightened and seeing strange faces in the shadows. The owner of a glass factory, the Vice President of the local bank, and the lawyer of a well-known bootlegger, have nothing to connect them, except to having vanished completely and the shades lurking in the dark.
