Syrian writer Amal Alhomsi reflects on a year in Alberta's Bow Valley through seasonal cycles, natural observation and questions of aging, love and belonging.

Senescence takes its title from the gradual process of aging and follows the changing rhythms of a year in the Canadian Rockies. Alhomsi moves through summer, autumn, winter and spring, using close observation of the natural world as a starting point for literary and philosophical reflection.
