See Jane Run
Autor Charlotte Alteren Limba Engleză Hardback – 6 iul 2027
Juniper Gray, a once hotshot journalist now turned jaded listicle writer, is struggling to find purpose after a destabilizing divorce and the all-consuming demands of mothering a toddler. She's also reeling from the news that a few months earlier, her childhood best friend, Miriam Kohan, disappeared. Her world is turned on its head when Miriam's mother Annie-Juniper's former mentor, and a renowned art historian and curator-is found murdered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
In her final moments, Annie scrawled a cryptic code at the base of a painting of the Madonna and child, which mentions Juniper by name. The cops think she might have answers-or indeed, might be a murder suspect-but when Juniper arrives at the Met, she is taken aside by an unlikely ally, a young woman named Tamara who was part of a top-secret network Annie had led.
On the run from the police with Tamara, Juniper must now use the journalistic skills she thought she had lost to decipher a trail of Annie's clues that lead her around New York City, in search of Miriam. Juniper soon realizes that Miriam, a formidable fertility scientist, was on the verge of a discovery that could reshape the world, and she's not the only one on the hunt for the truth. Juniper finds herself in a race against the clock to clear her name, save Miriam, and solve the mystery at the heart of Miriam's research and Annie's death, all before the real killer catches up to her.
At once a page-turning mystery, a primer on ancient feminist artifacts, a love letter to New York City's cultural institutions, and a tribute to the power of motherhood, See Jane Run launches an exciting new voice in commercial fiction.
