Secret Lyon

Autor Nadège Druzowski
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 26 ian 2027
Far from the crowds and the usual clichés, the city of Lyon still holds well-hidden treasures that it reveals only to residents and travelers who know how to venture off the beaten path.

An indispensable guide for those who thought they knew Lyon well or for those who wish to discover its other side.

An 18th-century boat on display in an underground parking garage, the plaque marking the first stage of the first Tour de France, lions on the move, a spectacular reservoir open to visitors by reservation, a building entrance that once belonged to a church, the strange house numbers on boulevard des États-Unis, the eccentric figures of the Basilica of Ainay, a plaque contradicting another, a cast of a magnetizer’s hand, Merovingian ruins beneath a highway ramp, mushrooms in a former military tunnel in Caluire, traces of cannonballs from 1793…

Far from the crowds and the usual clichés, the city of Lyon still holds well-hidden treasures that it reveals only to residents and travelers who know how to venture off the beaten path.

An indispensable guide for those who thought they knew Lyon well or for those who wish to discover its other side.

Notă biografică

A Lyon native at heart, Nadège Druzkowski is passionate about history—both the grand narratives and the small stories that bring depth to our daily lives. She is a regular contributor to the History & Heritage section of Lyon Capitale magazine and has written the historical texts for the comic books Lyonnaises d’exception and Héroïnes de Lyon. She is the author of the book and film Un désert au cœur du monde, which invite us on a journey in the footsteps of the monks who left their mark over the millennia around the Grande Chartreuse mountain range. Passionate about the visual arts, she holds several degrees (Central Saint Martins, London, and the Glasgow School of Art, Scotland). She has exhibited in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Iceland, and has illustrated two books by the poet Béatrice Brérot, l’eau d’en haut and dix mille êtres dedans.
