A fast-moving boys' story, set in the early years of the twentieth century. Two boys, Frank and George, head up to spend the summer in the Adirondacks, thanks to Frank's uncle Ed, a wealthy businessman. But once they get there, they realize something fishy is going on, and they don't know whom they can or cannot trust. So Frank contacts a friend for help. But will he get there in time?
