Sci Fi Realized
Autor Davide Sivolella, Erik Seedhouseen Limba Engleză Hardback – 13 mai 2027
THE FUTURE WE IMAGINED IS ALREADY HERE.
Join two aerospace experts for a visually stunning exploration of how speculative ideas from science fiction films have evolved into real-world technologies shaping humanity’s next frontier.
For decades, science fiction has envisioned humanity’s journey beyond Earth—sleek spacecraft, artificial intelligence, suspended animation, and life on distant worlds. Today, those ideas are no longer confined to the screen.
In Sci Fi Realized: How Science Fiction Became Science Fact, aerospace scientists Davide Sivolella and Erik Seedhouse use landmark films such as Interstellar, The Martian, Blade Runner 2049, Alien, Aliens, and more as entry points to trace the surprising connections between cinematic imagination and scientific achievement.
From artificial gravity and deep-space habitats to AI-driven robotics, bioengineering, and space agriculture, each chapter reveals how scientists, engineers, and astronauts have turned fiction into working reality. Drawing on the legacy of visionary writers and filmmakers—as well as the cutting-edge work of NASA and private space companies—this book demonstrates how storytelling has long served as a blueprint for innovation.
More than a narrative history, this is an illustrated deep dive into the tools, technologies, and ideas shaping the future of space exploration, brought to life through a compelling mix of:
Organized around key themes—including spacecraft design, human survival in space, bioengineering, and the search for extraterrestrial life—Sci Fi Realized offers a dynamic, visual journey through the evolving relationship between imagination and discovery.
Perfect for fans of science fiction, space exploration, and design, this book reveals a simple truth: the future doesn’t arrive by accident—it’s imagined first.

Notă biografică
Born in Italy, Davide Sivolella was captivated by flying machines from a young age. His passion for astronautics motivated him to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aerospace engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin. In 2009, Davide relocated to the United Kingdom, where he has held various roles in the civil aviation industry, including positions with airlines and aircraft manufacturers. He began his writing career in 2013, regularly publishing books on space-exploration technologies.
Erik Seedhouse is an aerospace scientist whose ambition has always been to work as an astronaut. After an extensive stint in the military, Dr. Seedhouse worked as an astronaut training consultant for Bigelow Aerospace in Las Vegas and wrote Tourists in Space, a training manual for spaceflight participants. He is a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society and a member of the Aerospace Medical Association. Recently, he was one of the final 30 candidates of the Canadian Space Agency’s Astronaut Recruitment Campaign. Erik currently works as a manned spaceflight consultant and author. The author of several novels, he spends as much time as possible in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii and at his real home in Sandefjord, Norway. Erik lives with his wife and two cats on the Niagara Escarpment in Canada.
