Carol Rippey Massat (MSW, PhD, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) is Professor Emerita of the Indiana University, School of Social Work. She served as editor of School Social Work Journal for ten years, and has edited five editions of this book. She was awarded the Gary Shaffer Award from School Social Work Association of America for distinguished contributions to school social work education as well as the Illinois Association of School Social Work Workers Lifetime Achievement Award. Sheila Dennis (LCSW, PhD, Indiana University School of Social Work) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work and Criminal Justice at Oakland University and a practicing psychotherapist dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of university and graduate students. With more than 20 years of experience in social work education, she has contributed extensively to the teaching and development of school social work curricula. Her research examines thesocial and emotional well-being of students and educators, with a particular focus on workplace moral injury among educators and social workers. Kate Phillippo (LCSW, PhD, Stanford University Graduate School of Education) is a professor in Loyola University Chicago's Schools of Social Work and Education. She worked as a school social worker in the Chicago and San Francisco Bay areas. She was awarded the Gary Shaffer Award from School Social Work Association of America for distinguished contributions to school social work education. Dr. Phillippo authored the books, A Contest Without Winners: How Students Experience Competitive School Choice (2019) and Advisory in Urban High Schools: A Study of Expanded Teacher Roles (2013).
