In Romantics, a collection of more structured work, William Driscoll turns his narrative ability to the creation of poetry based on older forms and traditions. From the first poem, a quasi Italian sonnet sequence with ever-increasing lines to swell each stanza to its conclusion, to a ballad in pigeon Middle English, to a song based on the rhythms and music of a Mozart Mass, we again see the poet's restless search for new forms and boundaries designed to push the language to its limits.
