Caroline P. Lubert has a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a PhD in engineering from the University of Exeter. She is a professor of mathematics and statistics at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she carries out research into aeroacoustics, specifically rocket launch noise. She is happiest when she is near the sea with her husband, Howard.
