Dan Stark, theatre impresario and actor, and his beautiful actress girlfriend, Valerie, planned on spending the weekend in the wilds of The Big Thicket looking for Max, Dan's wayward German Shepherd. Their plans are abruptly interrupted when, instead, they encounter a psychotic killer and the legendary Saratoga Ghost Light... rising out of the impenetrable swamp.
